La carrière de Kai comme artiste professionnel a débuté rapidement suite à l’obtention de son Baccalauréat en Art, à l’University of Western Ontario en 1991. Récipiendaire à deux reprises d’une bourse du Conseil Canadien des Arts (en 2003 et 2004), Kai expose ses œuvres depuis 1994, tant comme artiste solo que dans le cadre d’expositions de groupe en Amérique du Nord et au Royaume-Uni. Son travail a été l’objet de critiques publiées dans le Toronto Life, le Globe and Mail et The Gazette.
