denHertog, Laura

Laura den Hertog (1959) Born to Dutch parents and raised in Canada, den Hertog's cultural background is rich in the arts. She credits a love for the masters to early exposure to the 17th C. painters in Dutch museums. Trained as a commercial artist at Montreal's Dawson College, the artist spent her early years working inillustration and design. In 2004 she left behind the commercial world to study traditional, old master oil painting techniques. The artist currently lives and works in a small town north of Montreal, Canada.

As a member the International Guild of Realism, her work was included in The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century, a 4 year long Museum tour in the USA. Her paintings have graced book and magazine covers and her work can be found in galleries across North America.
