Cator, Eric

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Eric Cator now lives and paints in Toronto, Ontario. The long flat strip of the 401 highway that connects these two cities has proven to be a constant source of inspiration for his “Standing” series of paintings.

The barren and lonely fields running along this six-lane strip of asphalt provide the backdrops for the strange and surreal events that take place in these paintings, which themselves have gone on to live in private and corporate collections throughout North America.
