Cynthia Fuhrer est née et a vécu son enfance à Edmonton. Elle a étudié les beaux arts au Grant MacEwan Community College ainsi qu’à l’Université de Guelph et elle compléta une Maîtrise en Peinture à l’Université de l’Alberta, en 2003. Cynthia travaille actuellement dans la communauté artistique en tant que directrice à l’Art Gallery of Alberta, enseigne au Grant MacEwan College et détient un poste d’éducatrice en chef au Nina Haggerty Centre, un centre dédié aux artistes adultes avec des déficiences sur le plan du développement. Elle est récipiendaire de plusieurs prix et bourses, comprenant des bourses de projet et de voyage du Conseil canadien des Arts, du Alberta Foundation for the Arts, de l’Edmonton Artists Trust Fund et de l’Edmonton Arts Council. Actuellement, Cynthia se consacre à un projet sur l’art figuratif et les portraits grâce à une bourse offerte par l’Edmonton Arts Council.
