Michelle MacKinnon graduated from York University with a BFA(H) in Visual Arts, has since continued her practice in the inaurgual State Hermitage Artist Residencey in St. Petersburg, Russia, as an Artist in Residence at The Banff Centre and Spark Box Studio, and will be continuing her practice with an MFA at York University in 2013.  She has exhibited in various galleries in Toronto, Kingston, and Russia, and has been twice awarded the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for Emerging International Artists, the Nan Yeomans Grant for Emerging Artists, the Salon Prize, as well as various awards and honours from York University.
