McGlynn, Casey
Casey McGlynn a grandi dans les campagnes de l’Ontario; enfant, il a passé beaucoup de temps à regarder a télévision et à dessiner sur des sacs d’épicerie ou des bouts de papier divers pendant des heures, élaborant sans le savoir un style unique d’art pop surréaliste. À l’âge adulte, Casey a étudié à l’Ontario College of Art and Design. Rapidement ajouté à la collection permanente de la galerie Bau-Xi, les premières œuvres de Casey démontrent la spontanéité, l’originalité et l’énergie vive que l’on retrouve habituellement dans l’art brut. Les œuvres de cet artiste visent d’abord à exposer une réalité et exprimer une émotion, mais aussi à documenter des faits. Depuis 1995, Casey expose de façon intensive au Canada, aux Etats-Unis et en Europe; ses œuvres ont fait l’objet de nombreuses critiques et articles publiés.
