Erin Boake grew up in Red Deer, AB, where she attended Red Deer College before completing her BFA at Alberta College of Art & Design. Having lived in 10 different communities from coast to coast to coast, Erin has gained a great appreciation for the vast diversity and detail of the Canadian cultural landscape. Erin has had the pleasure of experiencing life in great metropolises such as, Vancouver and Montreal; rural farmlands and shorelines of Alberta and Nova Scotia; to the immense, frozen tundra of the Yukon and Nunavut. These experiences have been the backbone of creativity and self exploration in Erin’s life and career as an artist.

Along side her studio practice, Erin has been teaching art for 12 years. She has taught for the City of Red Deer, the City of Calgary, Red Deer College’s SummerScapes Art Camp, and privately. Most recently, Erin has been traveling back and forth to teach at the Nunavut Arctic College in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
