Erica Mendritzki was born on August 16th, 1982 in Sarnia, Ontario. She graduated from

Concordia University in 2006 with a BFA in Studio Art and Western Society & Culture,

and is currently a final year MFA candidate at the University of Guelph. She has received

a number of awards, including an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2011), a SSHRC

Canada Graduate Scholarship (2010), the Dean’s Tri-Council Scholarship (2010) and the

Heinz Jordan Painting Prize (2005). Her work has been exhibited in Canada, Germany

and the United Kingdom. Recent exhibitions include Chalk and Butter, a group show at

Diaz Contemporary in Toronto, and Erica Mendritzki et Ufuk Gueray: Pluriel à la

première personne, at the Maison de la Culture NDG in Montreal. Her thesis exhibition,

On Posing, will be on view at G Gallery in Toronto in August 2012.
