Maureen Paxton réside actuellement à Hamilton, en Ontario, après avoir vécu plusieurs années à Toronto. Elle a complété ses études au Ontario College of Art and Design pour ensuite y devenir enseignante; Maureen a également enseigné au Max the Mutt Animation School, au Royal Ontario Museum, avec les Inner City Angels et finalement au Toronto Board of Education School of Continuing Studies. En plus de sa passion pour les beaux-arts, elle a travaillé en animation comme peintre, comme illustratrice pour huit livres pour enfants, plusieurs couvertures de livres ainsi que pour diverses publications hebdomadaires et journaux. Ses œuvres illustrées lui ont mérité une mention sur la liste des candidats à la Médaille du Gouverneur Général. Écrivaine à ses heures, Maureen a fait partie de la Tarragon Playwrights’ Unit.
