Kara Williams vit et travaille à Toronto; elle a obtenu un Baccalauréat en Beaux-Arts et un Baccalauréat en Langue Anglaise, avec spécialisation en Rédaction créative, de l’Université d’Albany. Depuis sa graduation en 2001 elle a beaucoup voyagé, expérimenté la vie et la peinture. Kara n’a exposé ses œuvres qu’à partir de 2007. Son travail, s’étant affirmé dans sa forme finale pendant ses études universitaires, a toujours été figuratif, expressif, quelques fois sombre mais toujours d’avant-garde. Cette esthétique semble la définir au cours des dernières années; l’artiste déclare être influencée par la mythologie, les rêves, le mysticisme, les contes de fées, les expériences personnelles et la littérature. Dans l’avenir, Kara souhaite orienter la présentation de ses œuvres vers un contexte d’installation ou de performance, et de laisser évoluer son style pictural d’une manière cohérente et organique.
