Pete Smith is an artist, critic and sometimes curator. He has exhibited his work extensively since completing his BFA from York University in 1998 and his MFA from the University of Guelph in 2007.

Recent solo exhibitions include The system has no memory at Board of Directors, Toronto, Proverbs for Paranoids at Elissa Cristall Gallery in Vancouver, returning message to sender at Joan Ferneryhough Gallery in North Bay, Ontario (2008) and Resident Threshold at Zavitz Gallery, The University of Guelph (2007). His writings on art have appeared in Canadian Art and Border Crossings. He is a lecturer in drawing and painting at the University of Western Ontario
