Ludlow, Rachel
Rachel Ludlow was born in 1986 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Her work focuses on personal identity - its forms, how it shifts, its modes of perception, its displays, and the cultural, social, geographical, and historical factors that impact it, in particular fashion and consumer culture. Through her work she acknowledges and exposes her complicit participation in these worlds rather than disguise it. She uses herself as the sample for her projects as investigations into what she knows and understands about her own identity and how it is constructed and perceived. Ludlow completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts at the University of Regina in 2009.
She was Saskatchewan winner of the Bank of Montreal’s 1st! Art Competition in 2009. She has participated in exhibitions in Regina, Saskatoon, and Toronto. Ludlow will begin her Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts at York University in Toronto, Ontario in September 2011.
