Guérin, Laurent
b. 1969
Laurent Guérin was born in 1969 in Montreal (Canada), where is currently lives and works. He began his career as a fashion photographer but he rapidly distinguished himself in various group exhibitions. Guérin has had several solo exhibitions Galerie Orange (Montréal), Galerie Lacerte (Québec City), Mira Godard Gallery (Toronto), and The Cirque du Soleil Corporate Headquarters (Montreal). He also exhibited at the Elliott Louis Gallery (Vancouver) at the Art for AIDS Orphans event, at the Harbourfront Centre (Toronto) in The Summit of the Americas, Galerie SAS (Montreal) in Guerre et Paix (War and Peace), and Drawn to Develop (Toronto), Amongst other group exhibitions. He was also invited by the organization World Press Photo, presenting a series of photographs taken in India, in the main hall of the Maison de la Culture Frontenac (Montreal). In addition to being chosen for the prestigious LUX prize of Grafika magazine (Montreal), his photographs have been published internationally in various magazines such as Time (New York), Express (Paris), Vibe (Toronto) and Urb (Los Angeles). His An accomplished globetrotter. His works are part of many private and public collections, namely TD Bank, Cirque du Soleil, Bennet Jones, Colart Collection.
The artist has been working in black and white photography for over 15 years and work alongside important photographers such as Serge Clément and Olivo Barbieri (for whom he acted as an assistant).
